On September 8, a delegation of six members from Hyosung (China) POK Business Division, including General Manager Jin, Technical Director Yin, Technical Committee Member Cao from Hyosung Korea Headquarters, Business Division Manager Dong, Manager Jin, and Manager Shi, visited WDF for technical exchange and guidance.

Technical Committee Member Cao from Hyosung Korea POK Headquarters conducted a training session titled “Polyketone — POK Injection Molding.” The main topics of this training included:

  1. Injection molding equipment and process settings
  2. Mold design
  3. Common issues and case studies sharing

Through this training, colleagues from WDF’s sales and technical service departments gained valuable insights and achieved significant results. They developed a more comprehensive, systematic, and in-depth understanding of the injection molding characteristics of POK materials.

This training has laid a solid foundation for WDF to provide efficient services and excellent technical support for future POK business development.

Since Hyosung POK entered the Chinese market in 2016, WDF has been continuously focusing on POK application promotion and modification research. WDF is committed to becoming a leading POK application service and solution provider in the industry.

Introduction to POK:

POK, also known as polyketone, is a ternary copolymer produced from ethylene, propylene, and carbon monoxide. It is an engineering plastic with a tightly packed crystalline structure formed through high crystallinity in which the molecular backbone consists of carbon and hydrogen elements. It offers the following excellent properties:

  1. Outstanding chemical resistance and hydrolysis resistance
  2. Excellent wear resistance
  3. Environmentally friendly and food-grade properties
  4. Excellent impact resistance across a wide range of application temperatures
  5. Fast crystallization speed, short processing cycle, and high molding quality

Main Applications:

  1. Automotive: Connectors, actuators, clips, fuel caps, cooling fans, sensors, oil pipes
  2. Toys and sports helmets
  3. Conveyor chain plates, water purifiers, children’s tableware (food contact applications)
  4. Cosmetic packaging, medical sprays, aroma diffusers
  5. Gears, rollers, bathroom shower heads
  6. Oil well pipes, barrier pipes, and packaging films
