Spring is the perfect time to enjoy beautiful scenery. On the morning of April 19, 2025, WDF colleagues were fully prepared and boarded the buses one by one, heading toward our spring outing destination!
When we switched from the office spaces of the city to:
The terraced fields cultivated for thousands of years
The hidden landscape of Danshan Chishui
The lush and endless tea gardens
— What kind of wonderful encounters would await us?
Exploring Spring Scenery ▏Fuzhi Mountain Terraced Fields
As the bus followed the winding mountain road upward, parts of the terraced fields and villages among the farmland gradually came into view from afar. Stepping into the scenic area, everyone breathed in the fresh mountain air that was different from the city. Walking upward along the route while chatting and laughing, the magnificent scenery of the thousand-year-old terraced fields unfolded before everyone’s eyes. The layers of green temporarily drove away everyone’s worries and concerns.
The Ten-Thousand-Year Stone Waves — Quaternary glacial relics — attracted colleagues who loved challenges and exploration to climb upward, appreciating the scenery from another perspective and completing a new life experience.
Strolling through Dongcheng Ancient Village, everyone experienced the peaceful atmosphere of the village.
Experiencing Intangible Cultural Heritage ▏Tea Picking and Tea Roasting
Carrying bamboo baskets, we headed toward the tea garden.
After learning the “one bud with two leaves” picking method from the tea garden owner, everyone began working among the waist-high tea trees. From unfamiliarity to proficiency, the bottoms of the bamboo baskets gradually became covered with tea leaves.
Along with the harvest and joy, the tea roasting experience also began. The heat control and techniques determine the flavor of each batch of tea leaves. Colleagues who had finished picking enough tea leaves went to experience tea roasting:
Freshly picked tea leaves, and tea leaves after one round of roasting.
（One round of roasting is not enough to remove the moisture inside the tea leaves; they need to go through a second or even third round of roasting.）
Walking Through Nature ▏Danshan Chishui
Entering a village surrounded by mountains, we witnessed the traces of centuries-old village life. The surrounding groups of hundred-year-old trees all tell the stories of the simplicity and tranquility hidden deep in the mountains.
The entire village has only one family surname, Shen. There is an ancient well in the village, with clear and pure water that stays warm in winter and cool in summer, serving as the drinking water source for all villagers. Therefore, there is a saying: “One village, one surname, one family; one ancient well provides water for the whole village.”
Descending step by step from the homes filled with everyday life, we entered the dense forest to admire the streams, waterfalls, and clear pools surrounding the village.
From the layers of green scenery in the Fuzhi Mountain Terraced Fields, to the hands-on experience of picking and roasting tea, and then to the simple and ancient beauty of Danshan Chishui, every stop recorded our laughter and companionship. We rediscovered a more vivid and lovely side of each other.
In the fast-paced daily life, WDF has always valued the trust and warmth between people. We hope that every team-building activity is not only a simple way to relax, but also a journey of getting closer to each other and growing together.
One person can walk very fast,
